Planning your Granite Belt escape!

Looking for the quickest – or prettiest – route to the Granite Belt? If you are eager to taste our award winning wine and regional produce then a great mapping tool is the RACQ Trip Planner. You can view local attractions and accommodation from the map, making it easy for you to plan your next excursion.

Tips & Tricks

Firstly when using any mapping or navigation system in regional Australia, it is always worth a phone call to your destination to double check the route.  Sometimes the shortest route is not the quickest or most comfortable.  When searching for us, try using ‘Stanthorpe’ as your search location as this main town lies at the hear of the Granite Belt. Travelling south on the national New England Highway Stanthorpe is the last town in Queensland if you are driving to Sydney, or the first town in Queensland if you are travelling north from NSW. Within the Granite Belt there are a series of villages dotted north and south of Stanthorpe along the highway as well as a sprinkling east and west. In the wine world, the Granite Belt has official Geographic Indicator (GI) status, making it an internationally recognised wine producing region.

Don’t forget to select Accommodation and Things to see and do from the menu above the map!
