Queensland’s Capital of Cool

Stanthorpe has a reputation of being the coolest place in Queensland. That means we don’t get bogged down by the coastal summer heat, and we have crisp winters and gloriously mellow autumns. And to cap off the true four season nature of this destination, spring is a time of magnificent blossoms. Day time temperatures here are typically 5-7 degrees cooler than in Brisbane or on the coast – and we love it. Even in summer you should bring a light jacket or wrap. The other great feature of our winter climate is that while we often experience sub zero temperatures overnight, the days warm up very quickly – so we always suggest you pack and wear layers. Before planning your travel wardrobe, to see what to wear on a clear summer night or crisp winter’s morning the Weather Channel’s forecast map will be your guide.
